The Primordial Dance Original Oil Painting

“The Primordial Dance” is a concept intertwining different ideas about the beginning of humans, life and where everything all started for us. There are 9 figures in total making up this composition and I arranged them to sort of dance to the surface of the water. This idea of the primordial abyss with an emphasis on life as they strive for the light at the surface of the water. The dance amongst them is equal to our dance of life, the struggles, the good things, the moments of bliss, play and the moments of letting go. Reaching for the sun like the plants of the Earth do and the growth of life from our infancy, this growth is everything within us and around us and no matter what resistances we face in it all, we have the power to persevere and be at peace.

The figures are also in the shape of a tree, which was unintentional, but it just proves to me as an artist that if I ask the universe for answers, if I listen closely and pay attention, the answers will come through in my creative process.
