Meet the Artist
Mel Fiorentino’s journey as an artist is one of passion, resilience, and connection. She’s been creating since she was a child, turning to art as a means of escape and expression. By her early teens, she was experimenting with painting, and at 19, she began dedicating herself to the craft, blending her love for storytelling with the techniques of the old masters. Today, Mel is a mother, a musician, and an artist whose work bridges the classical and the contemporary.
Her connection to music runs deep—she’s played drums and guitar for over 20 years, finding inspiration in the rhythm and emotion of sound. This love for music infuses her art as she paints people whose songs, ideas, or spirits inspire her. Each piece tells a story, bringing her subjects to life with a depth and vibrancy that reflect her own experiences and emotions.
Mel’s work has been featured in prestigious spaces like Disney Springs’ House of Blues and at events such as the Epcot International Art Festival. Beyond creating, she shares her love for art through Fiorentino Atelier, offering workshops that make classical techniques accessible to artists of all levels. From her Florida studio, Mel continues to create, teach, and inspire, pouring her heart into every piece and inviting others to find connection through art.
Mel's Mission
At the heart of Mel Fiorentino’s art is a profound desire to connect—with people, stories, and the deeper rhythms of life. A devoted mother to two amazing children, Mel’s journey as an artist began in childhood as she sought creative ways to escape and express herself. By her early teens, she was experimenting with painting, and by 19, her passion had blossomed into a full-fledged calling. For Mel, art became not just a skill but a lifeline, a way to navigate and celebrate the world around her.
Music has always been a powerful influence in Mel’s life. A self-taught drummer and guitarist with over 20 years of experience, she draws inspiration from the harmony of sound and emotion. She paints people who resonate with her—musicians, visionaries, and individuals whose spirits she feels compelled to capture. Through her art, she brings their stories to life, creating pieces that feel alive, vibrant, and deeply personal.
In her Atelier & Art Studio, Mel shares her knowledge and passion through workshops that honor the traditions of classical art. From teaching techniques inspired by Caravaggio and Bouguereau to helping others craft their own creative escapes, Mel’s teaching is rooted in connection and empowerment. For her, art is more than a craft—it’s a way to build bridges between people, stories, and emotions, leaving a lasting legacy of beauty and inspiration.
